There was no rush for me to get to him, but I wanted to get the supplies needed for the trip north before it got too bright. Lest I want zombies and bandits to be chasing me down during sunrise.
Elektro is teeming with supplies. I hit a few residential zones first off, finding food, water and even an alice pack. The firestation is next, inside I find an AK-74 and several magazines. Off to a good start! By the 6th building I enter, I've found myself 2 canteens of water, 1 soda, 4 cans of food, 5 bandages, a Colt 1911 and 3 magazines of .45 ammunition, an AK-74 and 3 magazines, a compass, a map, binoculars and a road flare. I'm ready to head north.
Running the coast is one of safest ways to traverse the zone. Other survivors tend to stick to the mainland if anything. As well as avoiding zombies, however several cities and towns have harbors next to the sea, which can make it dangerous to pass during the day.

They weren't kidding when they said they found a Helicopter. It was in pristine condition, green across the board except the fuel gauge. After some waiting, my friends show up. We debate and discuss for some time on our next course of action. Me, being the most experienced pilot of the three - which doesn't speak much of our flight experience in Arma - was going to fly to Krasnostav airfield and land near the fueltanks where we will jump out and begin filling the helicopter which Jerry Cans.
I circle twice before landing. I know it's a really dangerous and stupid idea, but we don't have any other vehicle and doing return trips might attract attention. We hop out as I land and we spend the next 15 minutes filling the helicopter with fuel. Out in the open. Shooting zombies. For 15 minutes.
Honestly, I'm surprised no one shot us and destroyed the helicopter within that time. It was tense to say the least.
I pull up and we're out of there! We head down the coast to look for crashed helicopter spots, marking locations of vehicles. Just as we pass Kamyshovo, I hear it. A shot of a anti-material rifle. I pick up the pace, lowering myself with the emergency descend key. 125, 150, 175, 200, 225. Just as I hit a fast speed and a low evasive altitude, engine warnings go off. The Engine's red. It's taken a direct hit!
I attempt to line myself up for an emergency landing but my low altitude and high speed make it near impossible to control the helicopter without the engine. It hits the ground a little too steeply and we careen into the forest. I die on impact. My friend who rung the dinner bell died in the fire, and my other friend bled to death whilst trying to run away.
A morbid day indeed.
RIP Private Natasha - Survivor and Pilot.
